YUKALOV: "The African liberation organisation was founded in South Africa. The organisation that has become a symbol of freedom and mouthpiece of the oppressed people's of South Africa, as an instrument of their national liberation. The seventy years of the ANC is a historic of the constant heroic struggle for equality and democracy. The abolition of the criminal regime of apartheid, in justice, in political, economic, and social fields, for establishment of the (indistinct) power of the people in South Africa."
TAMBO: "(Indistinct) of the liberation movement. The anti-fascists, people fighting for justice and democracy against racism. All these form part of the history of the African National Congress."

Background: A mass rally and street procession formed part of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC) in Dar Es Salaam, the Tanzanian capital, on Friday (8 January). The rally was attended by representatives of Africa liberation movements, the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), the Tanzanian government and diplomatic representatives based in Dar Es Salaam. Among the diplomats who addressed the mass rally was the Soviet ambassador, Yuri Yukalov. The president of the ANC, Oliver Tambo, also spoke at the rally, held at the Lumumba Adult Education Centre.
