Background: The Iraqi Minister for the Economy, Mr. Hikmet El-Azzawi, has been having talks in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart and other government officials.
The talks cover a number of subjects, including trade, industrial co-operation, transportation and the construction and use of oil pipelines.
After the first rounds of talks, Mr. El-Azzawi expressed his pleasure with the results.
He had more discussions scheduled before leaving Turkey for home on Saturday (February 3).
SYNOPSIS: The Iraqi Minister for the Economy, Mr. Hikmet El-Azzawi, has been meeting Turkish Ministers and officials in Ankara.
Mr. El-Azzawi - seen here - his Turkish counterpart and other officials, discussed mutual co-operation in a number of areas.
The discussions covered an expansion of trade relations and industrial co-operation, transportation between the two countries and the development and use of oil pipelines.
After the first rounds of talks, the visiting Iraqi Minister said he was pleased with the results. Mr. El-Azzawi said he was sure the discussions would strengthen Iraqi-Turkish friendship.
