Background: Arriving at Nice station on the French /cote d'Azur, Dr. Konrad Adenauer, the West German Chancellor started a four-week holiday by posing for press photographers with members of the locally-dressed reception committee.
Stepping off the German carriage in which he had travelled from his home country, he was greeted by the Prefect, M. Moatti; the deputy Mayor of Nice, M. Jean Medecin; and M. Emile Hugues, deputy Mayor of Vence - the small township in which the Chancellor is spending his vacation.
After official greetings, the Chancellor stepped into a Mercedes car and was driven to the villa at Saint-Martin at Vence.
It is expected that Dr.Adenauer, who was accompanied by his two daughters, is expected to spend about four weeks in Vence.
