    Background: Agreements on various cooperative ventures were signed in Bucharest last week by Rumanian and Liberian officials during a visit by the Liberian President, William Tollbar
    President Tolbert arrived in Bucharest on Tuesday (10 September) for an official ??? the invitation of President Nicolae Ceausescu.

    Ties between the two countries were strengthened in March this year when President Ceausescu visited Liberia, becoming the first Head of State from a Warsaw Pack country to go there. At the end of this visit, the two leaders signed a joint communique summing up the measure of agreement achieved during their talks, which had covered trade, economic and industrial cooperation. The agreements set out ??? for negotiations in these ???ds and followed reports that Rumania was willing to help two Liberian industries in particular - rubber processing and fishing.

    The current visit was described in Bucharest as a continuation of the dialogue between the two leaders.
