TRANSCRIPT (SEQ 7):
HOUPHOUET-BOIGNY: R.D.A. comrades of our brother countries, the struggle continues. You are asking us to revive the co-ordinating committee of our great movement in the struggle for emancipation. Be assured that the Ivory Coast is always ready to pursue, in brotherly unity with you, the long and difficult path towards the progress of the dignity and independence of Africa.
In defining clearly what the ruling party of this country expects of everyone of you, and particularly of the young, this congress should enable the youth of this country to take account of themselves in order to assume the responsibilities which are clearly theirs. Let us warn them-against a cause without honour, against money too easily gained, which provokes so much jealousy, the enemy of unity.
