Background: Prince Norodom Sihanouk, former leader of Cambodia - renamed the Khmer Republic by the present government - said, during his three-day visit to Mauritania, that his United National Front had victory in its grasp.

He was speaking after his arrival on May 30th at the airport of Mauritania's capital, Nouakchott, where he and his wife, Princess Monique, were greeted by President Moktar Ould Daddah and other high officials.

Prince Sihanouk also laid down his three conditions for negotiating with the United States - one being the withdrawal of all U.S. personnel from the Khmer Republic.

The visit was part of a nine-nation tour of Africa and Eastern Europe. The Prince went on to Algeria and Albania. The countries he Has visited include Senegal, Zambia and Guinea.
