    TRANSLATION: (PROFESSOR YASSENN)

Mr. Tekoah called the Arabs Fascists, but the Zionists have been called nazis by somebody who knows what Nazism is all about. After the murder of Lord Moyne in Cairo, Winston Churchill, speaking in the House of Commons, was the first to fight fascism. He said the murder was a fascist activity. The first man who taxed Israel or Zionists with nazism or fascism was Winston Churchill.

Legal committee of the UN. Israel's Ambassador, Yosef Tekoah speaking. Professor Mustafa K. Yasseen of Iraq speaking.

TEKOAH: Not since the days of Hitler have Jews been the target of a campaign of premeditated slaughter. Not since Hitler have Governments praised the planned indiscriminate murder of Jews, Not since the Nazi S. S. and their Einsatz Commandos have organisations acting with governmental blessing gloated over the blood of innocent Jews, men, women and children, shed in bestial atrocities. Arab terrorism is doing that again. Arab terrorist organisations are again engaged in such outrages. Again there are Governments, the Governments that stand behind crimes which drew inspiration from the genocide of he Jewish people by the Hitlerite hordes.

Background: Israeli and Arab speakers clashed yesterday(Thursday 16 Nov) before the Legal Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.

They were taking part in a debate on terrorism when Ambassador Yosef Tekoah of Israel upset the committee's usual calm by accusing Arab Governments of unleashing a vicious campaign of indiscriminate murder directed against the Jewish people. He went on to recite a list of recent terror incidents.

Professor Mustafa K. Yasseen of Iraq, exercising his right of reply, said Mr. Tekoah's remarks were ill-founded, and said that, although the Israeli ambassador had described Arabs as fascists and nazis, Britain's former Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, had used the same terms to describe Zionists who assassinated Lord Moyne in Cairo in 1944.

Israeli and Arab speakers clashed on Thursday in a debate before the Legal Committee of the United Nations General Assembly. The Committee was discussing terrorism...

When Ambassador Yosef Tekoah finished his speech, Professor Tasseen of Iraq exercised his right of reply....
In an earlier speech Professor Yasseen said some delegates were exaggerating the importance of the debate, and minimising the need to study the root causes of terrorism. He spoke then in general terms, making only indirect references to specific political disputes. But in this he said the Israeli representative had attacked the entire Arab world, and had mocked the serenity with which the committee had hoped to conduct the debate. He said Mr. Tekoah's remarks, despite frequent repetition, were unfounded, and claimed there was a thick file on acts of terrorism perpetrated by Israel. Mr. Yasseen went on to say that, although Mr. Tekoah had described Arabs as fascists and Nazis, the former British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill, had used the same terms to described Zionists who assassinated Lord Moyne in Cairo in 1944.
