Background: Saigon May 21st. The Vietnamese forces of the 3rd military corps progressed to the direction of Phnom Penh and north of Soai Rierg with the participation of Rangers, armoured cars, artillery and reached to the area 12 km north east of Kompong Trabeck. During the progress there were some contacts with small groups of VC. The troops did the usual search in the region to find out arms caches and VC bases.
