Background: To boost a two-year Indian-Pakistani Trade Agreement was signed in Parliament House, Delhi, India, Mar 21.

I.A.Khan of Pakistani delegation and K.B.Lal of the Indian delegation signed the treaty, watched by Commerce Ministers, Hafiz-Ur-Rehman and Lal Bahadur Sashtri.

The pact, renewable for a further year unless either contracting party gives contrary notice, is another sign that Indian-Pakistani relations - embittered by the Kashmir question - are improving. Joint agreement on division of Indus River waters for irrigation and hydro-electric was announced, Mar 6.
