Background: MADAME NGUYEN THI BINH, DEPUTY HEAD OF THE SOUTH VIETNAM DELEGATION TO THE PARIS PEACE TALKS, VISITED A SESSION OF BLOOD DONORS FOR VIETNAM YESTERDAY (6 APRIL).

THE SESSION WAS HELD IN A CLINIC AT CAMDEN TOWN, LONDON. IT WAS ORGANISED BY THE MEDICAL AIR COMMITTEE FOR VIETNAM.

THERE HAVE BEEN THIRTY SUCH SESSIONS SINCE MARCH, 1967. OVER 4,000 PINTS OF BLOOD IN DRIED BLOOD PLASMA FORM HAVE BEEN SENT TO THE RED CROSS SOCIETIES OF NORTH VIETNAM AND THE SOUTH VIETNAM NATIONAL LIBERATION FRONT.

MME BINH SPENT AN HOUR CHATTING TO DONORS AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS ON THE WAR AND THE PROGRESS OF THE PEACE TALKS.

SHE ALSO DISTRIBUTED RINGS MADE FROM PIECES OF AMERICAN AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN OVER VIETNAM.

WHEN SHE ARRIVED, PATRICIA BURKE, THE ACTRESS, WAS ONE OF THOSE GIVING BLOOD. MME BINH SPOKE TO HER IN FRENCH. GAVE HER ONE OF THE RINGS, AND THANKED MISS BURKE, AND THE OTHER DONORS, FOR THEIR EFFORTS ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF VIETNAM. 'IT ENCOURAGES EVERYBODY THERE TO KNOW THAT THERE IS SO MUCH FEELING IN ENGLAND FOR VIETNAM', SHE SAID.

AS SHE LEFT, SEVERAL LARGE CRATES WERE BEGINNING THEIR JOURNEY TO EAST BERLIN WHERE THE BLOOD WILL BE PROCESSED FOR VIETNAM.

EARLIER IN THE DAY, MME BINH HAD ATTENDED A BIG EASTER DAY SERVICE HELD BY THE CAMPAIGN FOR NUCLEAR DISARMAMENT IN THE RUINS OF THE OLD COVENTRY ANGLICAN CATHEDRAL.

TODAY (7 APRIL) SHE WILL SPEAK AT THE MAIN C.N.D. RALLY AT TRAFALGAR SQUARE.
