    TRANSCRIPT:

WEEKS: "And it's still Wendy Quirk (indistinct) but Michelle Ford is going with her. Wendy just about first in one minute 38 point 15, just half a second inside the Commonwealth record time, but look at the finishing power of young Michelle Ford from Australia an 800-metre free-style specialist and now looking like a possible winner of this 200-metres butterfly final. And there's 20 metres to go. Michelle Ford, who has already swum in a 400-metre freestyle heat, is coming through about 20 minutes later to win a gold medal in the 200 metres butterfly. What a swim for the young Australian! In second place, it's going to be Wendy Quirk of Canada, in third place, Linda Hanel for Australia.

WEEKS: "Away first time, two lengths of the baths. Dan Thompson, world rank two and Commonwealth number one, in lane four. And he is already taking a lead as he gets the 35-metre mark. John Mills, one lane up from the bottom there, going with him. And, on the far side, Paul (indistinct) is also looking good, but Dan Thompson there has established a very healthy lead as they come to the end of the first fifty. Thompson, the fastest man in the heats, with 25 point seven-seven, or just two-one-hundredths faster, as John Mills tries to bring back that slight deficit as they enter the final the final 25 metres. And as John Mills, closest to us, just in the picture, who is the closest challenger to Dan Thompson. Mills in second place for the moment Dan Thompson for Canada, Canada are going to get the gold medal. John Mills touches in for second place, and in third place it's Bill Sawchuk. So John Mills gets the silver medal."

VINE: "....third gold medal, 74. Now, here in Canada, the man who's broken over 130 weightlifting records in his career hoists up ahead, and Russ Prior has, I'm sure three golds and he's got them (indistinct) and that's the smile of a three-time gold medallist."

VINE: "Mark Cardinal with, as you can see, the heaviest weight attempted in these Commonwealth Games -- 205 kilogrammes. This for a new Commonwealth Games jerk record and Commonwealth Games total record in this super heavyweight trial. And it's up there, as the bar bends. Fifty-two stone cracked down onto the stage and Mark Cardinal has gold at super heavyweight."
