From the airport Dr Subandrio drove to Parliament House where he was met by the Housekeeper of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Newman. Inside the building Dr Subandrio was shown round Queen's Hall by the Victorian Premiere, Mr. Bolte.
During Dr Subandrio's visits it was announced that Australia and Indonesia have agreed to sign a treaty of friendship. Talks between Dr Subandrio and Australian Cabinet Ministers have shaped the principles of the treaty.
The Indonesian Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Sadjarwo, announced Feb 13 that the Indonesian Government had decided to nationalize all former Dutch estates. Compensation would be paid according to the nationalization law. British Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd has ordered a check on reports that Indonesia may squeeze British rubber planters out of business.
