Background: The President of Rwanda, Major-General Juvenal Habyalimana, stopped over in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa on Wednesday (10 April) on his way home from Europe. He was one of many African leaders who attended the funeral of French President Georges Pompidou.
The Rwanda President --- accompanied by his wife and his Foreign and Justice Ministers --- had an hour of talks with Emperor Haile Selasie at Bole airport, before leaving for Kigali, the Rwanda capital.
Also at the airport to greet General Habyalimana were the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Endalkechew Makonnen, and Foreign Minister, Minassie Haile.
General Habyalimana---who came to power in coup in July last year---rules the second smallest African nation, after Gambia.
