Background: No bare knees this summer is the message from the fashion house of Christian Dior-London. Colours in their spring/summer collection are light, with white and pastels to the fore while materials are thin in anticipation of the sun.
The London collection is designed by Jorg Langberg from Denmark who says his creations are along the same lines as those from the Dior fashion house in Paris but are adapted to suit English tastes.
The lines of most of the outfits are simple. They are still wide and flowing, but tight belts are used to accentuate the waist. Pleated or gathered seams are used to enhance the soft look of many dresses.
In keeping with English tastes Mr. langberg uses flowery prints and embroidery and embellishes his outfits with elegant high-heeled shoes and large elegant hats or military-styled berets.
Most of the outfits from the spring/summer collection can be bought for between GBP200 sterling (about 480 U.S. dollars) and GBP800 sterling (just over 1,900 U.S. dollars).
