Sir Ian Jacob ".... but when I think of the contribution that Broadcasting can make to the future development of this great country, well, then I hope and pray that the development there has been going on here will be carried through and that the full contribution of education to enlightment and the development the Broadcasting can give will take place here, and I am quite sure from what I have seen from the staff of the Broadcasting System here and what I know of them and those who will join them as time goes on will carry on and will do something worthy of honour in this country. Well ladies and gentlemen I have only to conclude by saying once more .........."
Mr. Millar: "Ladies and gentlemen, this is a great occasion for all of us in the Ghana Broadcasting System and I want to thank all of you for coming along to this ceremony which is so important to us. Thank you very much Mr. Prime Minister for opening our new Broadcasting House so gracefully and so successfully ...................... on the same platform with you Mr. Prime Minister and our Minister Hon. Kofi Baako, May I cease the occasion to thank both of you and through you to the Government of Ghana and the people of Ghana for the tremendous support which they have given to Broadcasting. This building is the latest and greatest evidence of their support. We in Radio Ghana are all very proud of our Broadcasting House.

Background: This is a great occasion for Radio Ghana and for Ghana. From modest beginnings , the headquarters of the Broadcasting Department is now housed in as fine a building as any in Accra. I welcome all who have come to this function; as you look around these premises after the opening you will be able to see for yourselves the very high standard both of studio and of office accommodation which is now available.
The government of India has also indicated her willingness to help us with our advice and technical assistance we may need.
We very much appreciate this interest in use
The purpose of introducing external broadcasting is to enable the Government of Ghana and her people to promote a better understanding of Ghana in other countries and to increase mutual understanding between our people and the possibility and advisability of introducing commercial broadcasting.
The opening of these buildings, an event of such importance to the nation, is fittingly entrusted to our Leader and Prime Minister, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, whose faith in broadcasting has been an inspiration to all of us in my Ministry and it is with great satisfaction that I invite him now to perform the opening ceremony.
