Background: The subject is in general treatment and requires no shot sheet. Thousands of ex-service men and women assembled at the Durban Cenotaph in a most impressive and dignified Remembrance Day service, attended also by the Mayor and Councillors in robes. This is an annual service which lasts from 10.30 to llam, and will be followed on Monday night by the annual march past of ex-servicemen. Coverage include shots of crowd, close-ups of individual veterans. Civilian crowd shots, and Councillors. Laying of wreaths at the foot of the Cenotaph. Prayers by Mayor's Chaplain. Singing of hymns and high shots of two minute silence. Among the masses of ex-servicemen were the faces of very old and very young their chests bedecked with medals and colourful ribbons. Men who fought in two World Wars remembered their comrades who gave their lives in the cause of freedom of freedom-loving people of the democratic world.
