Background: President Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia and President Julius Nyerere of Tanzania flew into Entebbe airport yesterday (Thursday) to take part in a foundation ceremony. They will join President Milton Obote at the stone laying ceremony for the Pilot and Engineering Training School at Soroti.
The stone laying ceremony will be performed by President Nyerere in his capacity of Chairman of the East African Authority. President Obote was a Entebbe well before the two leaders arrived. First was President Kaunda. After the playing of the two nations anthems, President Obote introduced him to members of the Ugandan cabinet. The large crowd at the airport for the arrivals was obviously delighted to see President Kaunda and there were loud cheers as he stepped from the aircraft.
President Nyerere was equally well received when he arrived in his private aircraft a few hours later.
