Background: At the Kubbah Palace in Cairo, United Arab Republic, May 16, President Nasser and President Sekou Toure of Guinea signed bilateral agreements. President Toure is currently on a visit to the U.A.R.
The agreements between the two countries cover cultural co-operation, technical aid and military co-operation. Although Guinea has now left the French Community, she remains within the franc area.
Under an agreement signed in Paris in 1959, Guinea has special relations with France in the technical, cultural and monetary field. Guinea looks to France, too, for the training of her professional classes and for the supply of teachers and technicians.
