SV Mr. George Brown - Mr. Maurice Laing signs agreement.
Interview with Mr. Brown, Mr. Laing and Mr. George Wood - cook, Mr. Brown replies to interviewers question asking him how far this agreement takes them.
CU Mr. Brown:- We have got the ship at sea, now we have to navigate it a cross the ocean and in to harbour the other side.
Mr. Brown replies to the question about when this agreement will come into effect.
Mr. Brown: - I would like to think, weeks rather than months or months rather than years. Let's say in the new year.
CU Mr. Maurice laing (Employers)
Interview asked Mr. Laing if he had not come this far with out a fight. - r. Laing replied by saying- The employers had to ask their members to trust them, which the members had done.
CU Mr. George Woodcock (TUC.)
Interviewer asks Mr. Woodcock have you come this far because this is a labour government. Mr. Woodcock said his member felt this was the right thing to do. It would not have mattered if a Conservative government had put this forward, they still would have gone ahead with it.
