Background: These shots are nearly 50 years old. Such was the Red Army. A Committee for Military and Naval Affairs was organised during the formation of the Soviet Government headed by Lenin. It was the first body of military rule in the country. Antonov-Ovseyenko, Dibenko, Kirilenko and Podvoisky were members of the Committee. At first, the formation of the Army was carried out on a voluntary principle. Thousand of workers and peasants joined in the defence of the victories of October. From the first days of it's existence the Soviet Republic was threatened by foreign military intervention. Kaiser's Germany, Britain the USA, Japan and other states participated in actions against the Soviet Republic. There was a period when the white guard forces, supported by the interventionists assaulted Moscow from all directions. In these threatening for the Republic days the soldiers of the Red Army of Workers and Peasants went to battle with the parting words of V.I.Lenin,/SOF/. The Red Army fulfilled its' duty with honour. In fierce battles the army destroyed the enemy and cleared the Soviet land from white guards and foreign conquerors and defended the great achievements of the Socialist revolution.
