Background: Troops arrested 12 students in Djakarta yesterday (Friday) when they staged a demonstration over a proposed "Indonesia in miniature" project. The project is the idea of Mrs. Suharto, wife of the country's President who made the suggestion after she had been to Disneyland in the United States. The project is estimated to cost 11,000 million rupiahs (11 million sterling). Students have branded the amusement park project a gross waste of money. Yesterday students attempted to disrupt a meeting between Mrs. Suharto and a group of businessmen. When they were turned back, the students staged a sit in across the road. When they refused to move police and troops arrested them. Mrs. Suharto told the businessmen that the project was purely private and had nothing to do with the Government.
