Background: American skiers dominated the World Hot Dog championships held in the Italian Alps at the weekend (11, 12 and 13 April).
Mark Stiegermier, 21, of Sun Valley won the ballet section of the titles easily from another American, Alan Schoenberger and an East German, Peter Lindecke.
Stiegermeier has been the top American hot dog skier for several years.
The aerial section of the championships was won by John Ostberg of White Bear in the United States. He was a clear winner from Henry Author of Tignes in France.
In all, 48 skiers from twelve nations took part in the championships.
