Background: The 10th Anniversary of the Union of the Dodecanese with Greece was celebrated with great festivity yesterday.
Special importance is ascribed to this event, for it combines the liberation of the Islands from Fascist Italy with the "Enosis" of Cyprus to Greece.
Everywhere were placards "Cyprus, you are next," "Enosis is near," "Long live Cyprus," etc.
Despite the political crisis in the Government in Athens, King Paul of Greece and his wife Queen Frederika, and Princess Sophie arrived on the Island this morning on board a Greek destroyer to attend the festivities.
Members of the new caretaker Government and many leaders from the political parties in Greece also arrived by air to take part in the celebrations.
