SYNOPSIS: Chi Peng-fei arrived at Niamey Airport accompanied by his wife, Hsu Han-ping. The couple were welcomed to Niger by the Minister of Education and Acting Foreign Minister, Commandant Moussa Sala. The arrival marked the start of the second leg of the Chinese leader's six-nation official tour.
Vice-Chairman Chi inspected a guard of honour and was introduced to Niger dignitaries. Also at the airport to welcome him was his own country's Ambassador to Niger, Hsieh Ke-hsi. Speaking shortly after his airport welcome, Vice-Chairman Chi described Africa as a revolutionary continent, full of dynamism. He said that no force in the world could halt the victorious march of its peoples.
