Semi View Senator Weicker speaks
"I think it's a roll that to some extent and maybe the extent isn't all that bad to assuring that there is going to be dialogue on the subjects of U.S./Middle East policy I don't think it's good for anybody or any nation or any idea to have it all it's own way. On the other hand when the dialogue reaches a point where there's a distinct policy shift by our government, which policy shift is been brought about by our weakness both in a monetary and an energy sense then I have to worry".
"Clearly, I suppose it would follow that if that arms sale goes through that Israel's on the defensive but in a sense of at least verble commitments you know friendly noises, I obviously think they enjoy a very special place in the heart of both the congress and the American People but make no mistake about it the situation is drastically changed in this town from that which existed about lets say five years ago."
