Background: A 22-member delegation from Japan arrived ink the Ivory Coast on Friday (November 12) at the start of a five-day tour of the country's industrial facilities.
The purpose of the mission -- which had already visited Chad, Liberia, Nigeria and Ghana -- was to thank the African countries for their participation in Expo '70 in Osaka.
SYNOPSIS: The "Sotexi" textile factory near Abidjan was the focal point of a tour of the Ivory Coast on November 16 by a group of Japanese businessmen.
The 22-member trade delegation has been visiting five African States -- Chad, Liberia. Nigeria and Ghana as well as to the Ivory Coast. The team of officials, from leading industrial and commercial firms has been sent to personally thank the African countries for their participation in the Osaka Fair -- Expo '70. The delegation was also scheduled to hold talks aimed at strengthening the trade ties between the African countries and Japan. The Japanese party was shown through the SOTEXI -- Societe Textile de Cote d'Ivoire -- by M. Kayu T. Kaji. During their tour of the factory the Japanese mission were shown all aspects of textile production in the Ivory Coast.
