Background: The plastics division of British I.C.I. - Imperial Chemical Industries - are to stage the first foreign exhibition of plastics ever to be held in Moscow. Workers were seen at the Polytechnical Museum, May 27, preparing for the display open to the public June 3 - 17.
It was decided to mount the exhibition in view of I.C.I.'s expanding trade with Russia, which has risen "quite considerably". An official said this was true not only of plastics but of trade generally.
Items in the display will include an "Alkathene" boat made by means of the Engel process; an Austin 7 saloon car illustrating the use of the company's plastics in the motor industry and a section of a bathroom and kitchen showing "Perspex" sanitary ware, sink and drainer. There will also be a wide range of samples mounted in display cases.
Later the exhibition will move from Moscow to Leningrad - July 15/29. In both cities it is to be opened by the British Ambassador.
