Background: The Double Fifth, also known as Drogan Boat Festival, falling on the fifth day of fifth month of lunar calendar is the festival in honour of a great Chinese poet, Chu Yuan.
On this occasion all Chinese where respect their ancient cultural heritage are used to preparing rice dumplings (Chungtze) and other foods. Besides, they also held dragon boat race on the day. Those dragon boats used for race are long and narrow, with the head of a dragon at the prow and the tail of that tinythical creature at the stern.
Dragon Boat Race, for it being a healthful sport, is quite popular. There are several races hold in Taiwan this year. The scenes shown in the film are taken from the dragon boat race in Taiwan. More than 50 teams including men's and women's took part the games attracting large crowds and inspiring feverish excitement.
