Background: The United Nations Under-Secretary for Political Affairs, Trusteeship and Decolonisation, Mr. Tang Ming Chao, arrived in Dar es Salaam, on Saturday (August 4, 1973) for talks with officials of the Tanzanian Government. He was touring several African nations, including the People's Republic of the Congo, Senegal, Guinea, Zambia, Ethiopia and Zaire.
While in Tanzania, Mr. Tang visited the Liberation Committee of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and met representatives of African nationalist movement.
