Background: INTRODUCTION In a common decision of the sports Undersecretariat and Athens Police, special measures are now being taken in the main foot-ball grounds of the country in an effort to smash violence and troubles during major league games. Specially trained policemen, similar to the Riot Police squads, are demonstrating their presence inside and outside the foot-ball grounds before the kick-off, aiming at deterring fanatical hooligans and "provocateurs" from creating a state of anarchy inside the field by attacking referees or players or throwing smoke-bombs or colour-rockets. Even police dogs will be used soon for this purpose, a police report said. Today's scenes are from the game between AEK and Panionios, both Athens team. FYI AEK will play Queen's Rangers in London next month for UEFA Cup.
