Background: Swedish troops have started training under atom warfare conditions. Filmed recently at Gotland Island, Sweden, they were even subjected to a fall-out of radio active dust.
The dust, prepared by the Swedish Atom Research Establishment Stockholm, was taken to the island in a lead container. The radio activity, however, was not strong enough to cause harm.
Part of the exercise was a clean up after the fall out by the soldiers, who work rubber atom-proof suits.
The Swedes are reported to have started the training as a result of continued Soviet atom tests at Novaja Zemlja, only 122 miles from the Swedish border.
