Background: Visnews June 19 filmed the Queen and Duke of Edinourgh at Corner Brook, ??? and, visiting the world's biggest paper mill.
Here in Canada's densely-wooded interior, the Royal guests, on the first full day of their six-weeks' tour, accompanied by Sir Eric Bowater, watched the sea of logs feeding the Bowater paper mill.
The Queen wore a tangerine and white-pleated dress with a short belted jacket and white accessories.
Corner Brook, incorporated as a city only two years ago now has 25,000 inhabitants and is one of Newfoundland's most modern communities. The mill produces 1,000 tons of newsprint and 150 tons of sulphite pulp daily, and most people in the district make their living from Bowater, one of the country's leading industries.
Following day (June 20) the Queen and Duke flew to Knob Lake, Quebec Province, and later to Schefferville and the Sept. Isles.
The Royal couple, due home in the yacht Britannia, August 1 are showing every sign of enjoying their Canadian visit.
Strongly criticized at first by Canadians for its financial cost: the tour is becoming one of the gayest and friendliest made by the couple.
