Background: The Kuwaiti Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman, for talks with Jordanian leaders on Monday (8 December).
He was greeted at the airport by the Jordanian Prime Minister, Mr. Zaid Al-Rifai and a number of senior government officials.
During his three-day official visit, Sheikh Al-Sabah is scheduled to hold a series of talks with Mr. Al-Rifai and other Jordanian leaders on a number of issues, including bilateral relations and the situation in the Middle East.
On the following day, Tuesday (9 December) the visiting Foreign Minister discussed strengthening co-operation between Kuwait and Jordan with Mr. Al-Rifai, and called for a consolidation of Arab unity.
He also had an audience with Jordan's head of state, King Hussein, during which he delivered a message from the ruler of Kuwait, the Amir Sheikh Sabah As-Salim As-Sabah. No details were released as to the contents of the message.
Sheikh Al-Sabah's visit to Jordan came as part of a general tour of Arab capitals for discussions on the Middle East situation.
