    Background: DUNDALK, EIRE

A skeleton has been found in the Republic of Ireland which may be that of a former British SAS officer murdered by th Irish Republican army seven years ago. Captain Robert Nairac, a Grenadier Guards officer, was awarded the George Cross Posthumously. He disappeared in the so-called 'Bandit Country' of Country Armagh, near to the border with the Republic. Now a skeleton has been found just across the border in Dundalk. The discovery was made about ten miles from where some of Captain Nairac's clothes were found. The skeleton was discovered in a drained marsh by a man out walking his dog. The skeleton is now being examined by a pathologist.
