Background: Film showing Seabees of the United States Navy arriving in Thailand to begin a technical assistance program in that country. The Seabees (the name comes from CB or "construction batallion) are sailors trained to perform a variety of construction jobs. The groups assigned to Thailand will work on a variety of projects designed to improve living conditions in that country. The men are attached to the US Military Mission in Thailand, and arrived recently at Ubon airport in Thailand from their base in Okinawa. They have begun a roadbuilding and irrigation project in Northern Thailand, and will instruct the Thais in engineering skills ranging from road and dam construction to the building, operation and repair of machinery.
