    At New Zealand House in London today (Monday), New Zealand made a special Independence gift to Zambia. The gift included two dispatch boxes for the Zambian Legislature. The boxes were made by disabled New Zealand servicemen and are constructed from selected New Zealand timbers. They were handed over to the Zambian High Commissioner, Mr. Simon Katilungu, by the New Zealand High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Macdonald.

    Fifty New Zealand books were also presented to Zambia, as were two letter racks for the Zambian Legislature.

    Three members of the Zambian High Commission staff accompanied Mr. Katilungu to New Zealand House for the ceremony. From the New Zealand High Commissioner to his Zambian counterpart -- a congratulatory handshake on Zambia's achievement of independence.
