Background: Canadian Prime Minister, Mr. John Diefenbaker, arrived in Bonn, November 7, during a brief visit to West Germany as part of his Commonwealth and European tour.
He was received at the airport by Dr. Adenauer, who said that the visit confirmed the trustful relations which had developed between the two countries in the past years.
Mr. Diefenbaker said he wished to discuss general questions of interest to both countries.
He went onto have lunch with West German President, Theodor Heuss. Later he had talks with Dr. Adenauer and German Foreign Minister, Herr Von Brentano.
During the day he visited Bonn Town Hall, where he signed the famous visitors book.
He was due to leave West Germany on November 8 - destination: Rome.
