IMPORTANT. For some reason best known to Cremline the filmed snapped about commencement. We therefore threaded the end into the take up reel footage, and continued, the second part of his remarks where then recorded. After this we went to the first part but film ran out just before he completed his talk. Earlier he fluffed his words. There was an audible noise from the sea. Please edit.

Background: In my capacity as President of the Dunlop Rubber Company and Chairman of the Central Mining & Investment Corporation, I have been paying one of my regular visits, with my wife, to the Union and the Federation.
I have been asked in this two minute talk to give you my impression of these two countries and their economic prospect.
Not an easy thing to attempt to do - even in a reasoned address, and having spent much more time in the Union and Federation than it has been my privilege to do.
But let me just say this -
Both countries have a record of remarkable growth in the mining, agricultural and industrial field, especially during the last ten years.
Both countries today face their own particular problems - and what country does not - which will challenge their courage and resources.
Both countries possess the priceless asset of a vigorous population of strong character, possessed of adequate skills and devoted to their land.
Thus fortified, I am confident you are both destined to go forward in friendly and helpful concert, resolving your problems as they and bringing an ever widening measure of benefit - economic and cultural - to the peoples who live within your frontiers.
