Background: The Moroccan Ambassador to the United Nations, M. Ahmed Taibi Benhima, yesterday (17 September) joined the attack on Israel during the Security Council's meeting on the status of jerusalem.
The meeting was called by Jordan, which complained of measures it said Israel was taking to "change the Arab character of Jerusalem".
Film showing the Jordanian and Israeli envoys speaking at the session was serviced yesterday on Visnews Production No. 10820/71.
This film was shot by a United Nations cameraman.
M. Benhima said his country demanded that all governments, and especially those of French, the Soviet Union, Britain and the United States, should consider the profound attachment of all the faithful of Islam for the city of Jerusalem, and their governments' solemn resolution to fight for its liberation. Their peoples and governments were deeply concerned at Israel's prolonged occupation of Arab territories since June 1967, and at Israel's refusal to take account of the appeals addressed to it by the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, inviting it to reverse its measures to annex Jerusalem.
