Dick, Kerr ladies won 4 - 2. "The lilies of England beat the lilies of France." Lily Parr and Lily Lee 2 goals each. Carmen Pomies(cap) and Florrie Redford(cap) were famously pictured kissing at the start. Ida Rebardy in goal had a busy time stopping shots from Lily Parr. The crowd was 6,000 (some reports 3,000) but it was enough to make George Robey late for the theatre that evening. After the game the teams were the guests of the Lord Mayor at the Mansion House and had tea at the House of Commons.
