GVs Madrid streets with Xmas decorations (although you asked for establishers I limited them to these as daytime views Madrid wouldn't have cut in with these night time coverage)

Group runners warning up in the near-freezing Madrid night.

MS two English runners (numbers 2 and 3) warming up - Clark and Tuck.

MS Tunisian runners (one of which is Ali Gamoudi BROTHER of the known Gamoudi)

Start of race - badly covered I'm afraid as was taken by surprise.

Tracks thru streets of central Madrid of the two leaders Clark and Tuck.

Tracks of group of Spanish runners following closely.

Cutaways of chaos caused to traffic.

    More tracks of leaders.

    Cutaways of crowds on pavement.

At this point the camera car went ahead so we could cover the finish of the race, we followed the race director who lost his way in the black streets and so we missed the finish - you may not believe this, but its true.

At finish dais, Roger Clark given trophy.

CUs of winners Clerk, Tuck and Alvarez Salgado (Spain).

CU car sticker reads "San Sylvestre race".

The 6 Km race thru the streets of Southern Madrid at 9 pm New Years Eve has been held for 6 yrs. 36 runners from Spain, Portugal, UK, Tunis took part. Favourites, Mike Tagg of UK, Haro of Spain and Gamoudi of Tunis did not turn up (Haro and Tagg due Plu)

Clarks Time 15 mins 38 secs. Tuck 15 mins 47.6 secs, Alvarez 16 mins 6.4 secs.

methinks the Sao Paolo version of race is better organised
