    Background: At about this time every year Britain is invaded. It's a friendly invasion though - hundreds of cycling Breton onion sellers.

    With strings of onions dangling from the ancient cycles these 'Onion Johnnies' go from house to house hawking their wares.

    This year a French Gendarme has come over. His mission is peaceful - he'll help his onion selling countrymen and give them advice.

    I remember the onion sellers cycling by our house in the 50s. Sadly, this clip doesn't seem to have a sound track - or the player isn't working in Firefox. But I got the general idea from the clip.
