Background: Carmarthen is alive with citizens (on foot and watching from windows overlooking the Guildhall) and policemen (on foot and on horseback) as solicitor Harold Greenwood (of Rumsey House, Kidwelly), the man accused of poisoning his wife Mabel in "the greatest poisoning mystery of modern times" * is taken from Carmarthen Jail to the court in the town's Guildhall. The judge and High Sheriff are seen arriving at the court, as are a heavily veiled woman (probably the second Mrs Greenwood, Gwladys, nee Jones) and several men. The jury and witnesses are filmed leaving the police court. Light relief is offered by two heralds, positioned on the steps of the Guildhall, who seem uncertain at times when to sound the trumpets.
