Background: Table tennis ... and in South Korea Sweden's Jan-Ove Waldner has beaten the American Erik Boggan in straight sets to win the men's singles title on the Seoul Open championship. Waldner won the match, played on August 31, by score of 21-19, 23-21, 21-19. Waldner dominated his opponent with powerful forehand drives and backhand cuts. The women's singles title was won by South Korea's Yang Young-Ja, who beat compatriot Deuk-Whua 21-13, 22-20, 21-18. South Korea also won the men's and women's team championships, and the women's and mixed doubles.
