Background: The Singapore motor cycle Grand Prix was won last Friday (March 31) by the New Zealand ace, Geoffrporry, ingding Suzuki. It was his first successful defence of the title which ho won last year.
Ferry completed the race in one hour 56 minutes 32.2 seconds, an average speed of 77.78 miles per hour. Akiyasu Motohashi of Japan finished second, just 17.6 seconds behind. Ou Teck Wing of Malaysia finished third.
The 50 lap race carried a first prize of more than one thousand US dollars. It was presented to the winner by the honourable Sui Sen, Finance Minister to the Singapore government.
