Background: News of the serious illness of the great French actor, director, playwrite, Sacha Guitry, sent many Parisians hurrying to his home for the latest news of his progress.
There they saw many of the great actor's friends arriving to pay their last respects to the 72 year-old star of the French stage who had died early in the morning of Wednesday, July 24.
While telegrams and flowers arrived at the door, the body of one of the greatest personalities in the history of the French theatre was laid out to enable his many friends to take a look at the former star.
