Background: The European Championship in Class C motorboat racing was contested by 23 competitors from eight countries at Vienna June 22. Visnews filmed highlights of the event including Austrian favorite Quester's crashing the final heat.

In two of the three-lap races for the title the Austrian favorite, No 4, held his own against test pilot Jakubovski No. 78 with 0-6 seconds in hand Quester led Jakubovski in the final heat when he was thrown out of his boat as he rounded a marker bouy at top speed.
