    Background: Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in his capacity as Patron of The Air League of the British Empire, spoke at the opening of a 'Space-Age Conference' in London's Festival Hall, today. The audience of 2,800 was made up mostly of young people - between the ages of 18 and 23. After his speech, the Duke stayed to the end of the conference listening intently to the other speakers who included: Mr. A.C. Clarke - science fiction writer - Prof W. H. McCres, (Mathematics London University), several other Physical and Mathematical scholars and aeronautical experts. Chairman was Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Sir Dermot Boyle. Sound on Film-
