Ali approaches podium in English Good morning I'm glad to be here again to meet with his excellency Minister Weizman to discuss the very good work which has been achieved by the Military Joint Committee which will continue and be headed by the two Ministers.



Weizman in English: Welcome In Arabic, Glad to have you back as the first Minister of the Republic of Egypt arriving not as part of the delegation. What emphasises your visit is that we can look back on 3 to 4 months of fruitful work of the Joint Military Committee, we can look back on the hand over of 2 areas of Sinai including the city of El Arish, without the help of anyone, without the assistance of the UN - only thee 2 armies of Egypt and Israel.

Background: Egyptian Minister Kamel Hassan Ali arrived in Tel Aviv today on ceremony with full military honours. The defence Minister arrived with the acting chief of Military intelligence Labib Sharab and Chief of Staff Ahmed Badawi. The Defence Minister was greeted at the airport by Israeli Defence Minister Ezer Weizman and then proceeded to the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv to begin working discussions of the Joint Military Committee which for the next three days will be headed by the two ministers.
