Background: Prince Philip of Britain, continuing his tour through Central America, visited the Panama Canal Zone Saturday (7 November). Arriving aboard the royal yacht H.M.S. Brittania, he was met by several diplomatic officials and later paid a call on Canal Zone Governor Robert J. Fleming, Jr.
Our film shows the Brittania arriving at the pier, British Ambassador Sir Williams and Panamanian Foreign Minister Fernando Eleta meeting the yacht and going aboard, and Prince Philip coming out the departing for his call on the Governor.
He later visited the Presidential Palace and was guest of honor at a state banquet. After the Panama visit, Prince Philip goes on a tour of British Caribbean islands, returning to Britain in the latter part of November.
